Palin is ‘Seriously Interested’ in Presidential Run

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. Sarah Palin says she is seriously considering running for president in 2016. Why are you laughing? Stop laughing! You must be one of those liberal atheist Kenyan Muslim gay terrorists to be laughing at Sarah Palin!

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin told The Washington Post in an interview Friday that she is “seriously interested” in running for the White House in 2016.

“You can absolutely say that I am seriously interested,” Palin said, when asked to clarify her thinking about a possible presidential bid.

Palin, the GOP’s 2008 vice-presidential nominee, said she stood by comments she made Thursday in Las Vegas to ABC News, where she first expressed enthusiasm about potentially competing for the Republican presidential nomination.

“I am. As I said yesterday, I’m really interested in the opportunity to serve at some point,” Palin said Friday, as former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum, a potential 2016 rival, looked on…

Palin said, “It is a significant step, of course, for anyone to publicly announce that they’re interested. Who wouldn’t be interested? Who wouldn’t be interested when they have been blessed with opportunities to speak about what is important to this country and for this country?”

Repeat after me: Sarah Palin will never, ever run for any office again. Running for office is work. Hard work. As long as she can con the rubes into paying her $50,000 (or more) to spin a word salad behind a podium or watch her latest dumbass reality show, she’s not going to go anywhere near an actual job.

So don’t offend the delicate sensibilities of people who believe in deities, but beat, whip and murder people who don’t believe in deities. The chutzpah knows no limits. Indeed, fuck all that.

    Oops, wrong thread.

The outrageous part is that the lamestream media takes clowns like Palin and Trump seriously and wastes column inches on them.

Just think of all the campaign $$$ to be skimmed or kept after the inevitable defeat. I think she sees an opportunity here. Besides, the chances of her actually winning are infinitesimal, and even if she did win, she could do her 2 years easily.

    Wreck @ 4

I saw what you did there.

Just think of all the campaign $$$ to be skimmed or kept after the inevitable defeat.

To quote Modus: it could be worse. That money could be going to actual candidates.

  • Larry

Hey, she might score another wardrobe from the GOP before she drops out.

Wait a minute — someone asked Sarah Palin to clarify her thinking? About anything?

Whoever did that should be commended for good intentions but advised to spend their time in more useful ways.

  • gshelley

How much work is it to say “I’m running” then turn up to the first couple of debates/primaries?

  • scienceavenger

…Sarah Palin will never, ever run for any office again

Agreed. So stop helping her promote herself and wasting your valuable time. Even Glenn Beck’s insane ramblings are more newsworthy than her.

Sarah Palin’s Bizarre Iowa Speech Gets Thanks – Huffington …

    www. huffingtonpost.c om/…/sarah-palin-iowa-speec…

12 hours ago – Shortly after declaring that she’s “seriously interested” in running for president in 2016, Sarah Palin delivered a confusing speech that was …

This isn’t even the latest ridiculous thing Palin has done. She delivered one of her rambling word salads in Iowa. And got a standing ovation.

As long as you hate the right people, it doesn’t even matter to the christofascists whether you can speak in coherent English.

Yes, she will pretend to run. It’s easy money. And no, she won’t go anywhere. The responsible adults of the GOP, assuming there are any, don’t want someone clearly incompetent and embarassing to get elected.

Wait a minute — someone asked Sarah Palin to clarify her thinking? About anything?

Yeah, it’s sort of like asking a jellyfish to play the piano. You can ask until you’re blue in the face, but she’s never going to be able to do it.

    Sarah Palin yesterday Iowa:

“Things must change for our government. Look at it. It isn’t too big to fail. It’s too big to succeed! It’s too big to succeed, so we can afford no retreads or nothing will change with the same people and same policies that got us into the status quo. Another Latin word, status quo, and it stands for, ‘Man, the middle-class everyday Americans are really gettin’ taken for a ride.’ That’s status quo, and GOP leaders, by the way, y’know the man can only ride ya when your back is bent. So strengthen it. Then the man can’t ride ya, America won’t be taken for a ride, because so much is at stake and we can’t afford politicians playing games like nothing more is at stake than, oh, maybe just the next standing of theirs in the next election.”

There you go. You can try to make sense of it but good luck with that.

The christofascists in Iowa gave her a standing ovation. For this.

I’d need to know who her VP would be. I want to know who will become president when she quits in 2018.

Raven, I think what Palin said was the long version of this: “There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again.”

Sarah Palin makes Bush look, by comparison, like someone with a curious, engaged and even intellectual mind.

Sarah Palin stumbles, others rise on Iowa stage

The former Alaska Governor and Republican vice-presidential nominee made headlines last week when she said she had a “servant’s heart”

which she keeps in a jar on her desk…

“By the time Palin finished speaking, it was hard for anyone to believe she truly is ‘seriously interested’ in running for president,” York concluded…

Sarah Palin’s “seriously interested” in the next dollar.

I believe that it was Ed who reported that SP has been invited to give a “speech” in England on March 2. The hubby and I will be in the area at the same time. I just hope that someone there asks us about “our countrywoman”. They will get an earful.

Sarah may never run for office but that doesn’t stop her from collecting large sums of money for her campaign and hiring her family at large salaries to run it, just like her SarahPAC was a pass thru to her family–grifters gotta grift!

Raven@12: As long as you hate the right people, it doesn’t even matter to the christofascists whether you can speak in coherent English.

    .

They don’t communicate in sentences. They throw sentence fragments at each other, all with various emotional connotations. They have no grasp of how things work, or what happened in history, nor especially how we know some things are true and others not. Hence, their human urge to explain things ends up like this: “Something good happened, that means Daddy loves me. Something bad happened, that mean Daddy is mad“.

    .

Everything is a result of our moral behavior and the response from that Magical King in the Sky.

    .

    That does explain everything, right?
