Bryan Fischer Award Nominee: The Worldnetdaily

The Bryan Fischer Award is given to those who show a staggering lack of self-awareness, accusing their enemies of engaging in their own worst and most flagrant behaviors and being completely oblivious to their own hypocrisy. The Worldnetdaily might as well be the daily newspaper of the Bryan Fischer Award.

Take a look at this photoessay MSNBC did from the Iowa Freedom Summit over the weekend. The black and white images are really quite striking. But to the Worldnetdaily, they’re “demonizing” of the Republican candidates and speakers.

PHOTOS: MSNBC ‘DEMONIZES’ GOP STARS

Candidates appear looking like Frankenstein’s monster and worse

Heavy shadows. Stark black and white. Shot from below, making the subjects of the photos loom large and intimidating, with pained expressions on their faces.

The art of photography can be used to paint a picture of the subject as soft or hard, trustworthy or terrifying – and it appears MSNBC was going for terrifying.

So let me see if I have this straight. The “news” outlet that on virtually a daily basis features columnists who denigrate gay people as the “gaystapo” and “homo-fascists” who want to rape your children and destroy not only the country but civilization and all of humanity…

The “news” outlet that on a virtually daily basis calls President Obama a secret Muslim, a Marxist, the second coming of Adolf Hitler and someone who is on the side of the terrorists and is, again, deliberately trying to destroy the country from within…

Is accusing MSNBC of demonizing Republicans with some artfully done black and white pictures? In related news, the pot and the kettle were found dead in a seedy hotel from an apparent murder-suicide pact.

"Yep. Principally raking in a nice fat paycheck for hauling the party line."

I won’t say there was no editorializing in the photos, but I think WND is overreacting.

Or is it a case of “The lady doth protest too much”?

  • tbp1

And of course the pictures they print of the President and other Democrats are always flattering.

  • petemoulton

Hey, at least the photos didn’t show the clown shoes…

The “and worse” refers to them looking like Republicans.

    @ richardelguru #5:

I want a fucking halo. I bet the wife would be really turned on! Or creeped out.

The title of that photo-essay should be “Nose Hairs Galore”.

  • caseloweraz

Well, there you go. Frankenstein didn’t have nose-hairs.

    Checkmate, libruls!

But seriously, the pictures are poorly composed (framed), #12 has the wrong caption, and some are too dark. (I bet he was shooting without flash, per agreement with the conference, and sometimes couldn’t pick his location.)

Note to commenter “chaos”: Too dark is underexposed, not overexposed.

True, the photos of Trump and Christie are not exactly flattering.

Steve King does look a little demonic in #23, but that’s not the photographer’s fault. Oh, look: two photos show immigration protesters being cuffed and removed. Maybe that’s the real problem?
