Peterson: America Now Under ‘Sodomy Law’

Jesse Lee Peterson thinks he knows what discrimination is. The right wing misogynist who thinks would shouldn’t have the right to vote (which I’m sure he totally doesn’t think is discrimination) starts his latest column by offering up this definition of discrimination:

Discrimination: noun discrim·ina·tion: The ability to recognize the difference between things that are of good quality and those that are not – Merriam Webster Dictionary

Yeah Jesse, because all words only have one definition. And I’m sure that when the Civil Rights Act was passed outlawing discrimination in hiring, housing and public accommodation, they meant to outlaw “recognizing the difference between things that are of good quality and those that are not.” Just like I’m sure that when the rules of Major League Baseball regulate the size and weight of a bat, they’re talking about the size and weight of flying mammals. Conclusion: You’re a fucking idiot.

Welcome to the “new” America.

LGBT groups have been effective in linking their immoral cause to the noble civil rights movement. In reality, gays never wanted equality. They wanted society to accept their sinful lifestyle, or else. LGBT groups – to be blunt – act like fascists. Just like militant Islam demands Shariah law, homosexual pressure groups demand “sodomy law.”

Wow, that’s so clever. I don’t know if I mentioned that I found a message sent to me on the Freethought Blogs facebook page recently that was sent last summer by the producer of Peterson’s show, asking me to come on and debate Jesse about something. The only way I would agree to go is if they’d let me answer every question by saying “you’re a fucking idiot.”

“No seriously, you’re a fucking idiot.”

“Did I mention that you’re a fucking idiot?”

“When did you realize that you could make money by being a fucking idiot?”

Just like militant Islam demands Shariah law, homosexual pressure groups demand “sodomy law.” – Jackass Peterson

Wait… that doesn’t even make sense.

What does he think a “sodomy law” is? That’s certainly not what homosexual “pressure groups” are asking for.

I have to concur with the fucking idiot charge.

Gays to Jesse Lee Peterson (and his fellow travelers): Got a real fine heterosexual lifestyle there. Be a shame if we did something among ourselves to cause something to happen to it.

JLP: Ah-ha-ha! What you do among yourselves can’t affect us that way!

    Gays: Exactamundo!

Oooh this is a fun game:

    discrimination

    /dɪˌskrɪmɪˈneɪʃən/

    noun

    1. unfair treatment of a person, racial group, minority, etc; action based on prejudice

    2. subtle appreciation in matters of taste

    3. the ability to see fine distinctions and differences

    4. (electronics) the selection of a signal having a particular frequency, amplitude, phase, etc, effected by the elimination of other signals by means of a discriminator

    Dingo

    ———

Note: Online Etymology Dictionary gives the first meaning, especially in a prejudicial way, based on race, to American English from 1866 onward.

So it’s good to know that this numbskull lives in the earlier 19th century (mentally, at least).

Just as an exercise, early commentary from the late General Turgidson circa 1959 about the civil rights movement.

Blacks have been effective in linking their immoral cause to the noble anti-slavery movement. In reality, blacks never wanted liberty. They wanted society to accept their sinful nature, or else. Negro groups – to be blunt – act like fascists.

They wanted society to accept their sinful lifestyle, or else.

In case you’ve been asleep for the past couple of months, society has accepted LGBT people and their [snigger] “sinful lifestyle.” What it no longer accepts is your claim to make the law complicit in your attempts to punish people because they don’t agree with your religious beliefs … the way Shariah law does (at least in some places). In point of fact, the ones who most want something resembling Shariah law are fucking idiots like you, Jessie!

Um, a person can want both: social acceptance and equality under law. And he seems to be confusing the two, because when the court orders a baker to serve a gay customer or face fines, they are enforcing the latter, not the former.

They wanted society to accept their sinful lifestyle, or else.

Yeah, the sinful lifestyle that they want society to accept: the lifestyle where upon the death of one partner, the other partner automatically inherits property and assets and automatically takes custody of the children, the lifestyle where one partner can make major decisions on behalf of someone who is incapacitated, the lifestyle where a couple can just sit on a park bench holding hands while talking about nothing at all.

How, in his mind (such as it is), would LGBT activists seeking equality behave?

I suspect he thinks they should just shut up and go back into the closet.

Here’s the full bit from Merriam-Webster:

    Discrimination

Wonder why they left off the rest? Oh, that’s because it would totally destroy their whole point. Jerks.

The right wing misogynist who thinks would shouldn’t have the right to vote …

I s’poze our esteemed host intended that third “w” word to be “women”. Because if it meant the homonym for what he actually posted, I’d have to agree with Paterson that wood* does not deserve the vote.

*Maybe trees when alive could benefit from the franchise and related legal standing, but not pieces of them. And the metaphorical use of the word involves a lot of elective behavior best kept separate from elections.

OMG! I can’t believe you posted this! That’s disgusting! Don’t you you know that regular, normal people read this blog?

(OK, not really, but they might!) ewwww!

Really, I can’t understand what is wrong with assholes like JLP. It’s like they have no humanity.

Hey Dingo! I’ve actually designed discriminators!

I guess that makes me an electro-bigot.

  • Trebuchet

Black wingnuts, however inevitable, make me sad.
