Dinesh D’Souza Tries to Be Cool

Vanity Fair has, for some weird reason, done a feature article about Dinesh D’Souza’s life after confinement. It includes this video, which can only be described as utterly bizarre, especially when he’s trying to act all cool and “street.” Seriously, stop trying to be cool. You just can’t.

After confinement? Did he ever actually go through with that? I thought he lobbied for a deferment from his halfway house. Did he ever spend any time in jail at all?

What’s his idea of “cool?” Cheating on while abusing his wife?

This morning I read some Amazon customer reviews of Jon Ronson’s book Them. I usually go first to the one-star reviews. One of them said that Ronson was wrong because he gave the people he interviewed enough rope to hang themselves. Of course he did that; but if someone has wacky ideas, getting them to express those ideas in order that the public can assess them is not wrong.

I mention this because that is exactly what Vanity Fair’s video does with D’Souza.

He spends a huge amount of time whining about being a victim, and compares himself to the rebels in star wars…wow.

Such a fine whine!! Mr D’Sleaza whining about having to sleep in a halfway house in San Diego where he can take long walks on the beach instead of being in the Federal slammer out in Mohave–po’ po’ pitiful me!–my heart bleeds for this arrogant little prick

When you throw a harpoon, you have to expect that there’s going to be some return fire…

Really, D’Souza? Is that personal experience you’ve got with seals and whales and dolphins chucking harpoons? or is this something you’ve proved mathematically via extrapolation of the Laffer Curve?

If being confined has given him “a chance to think,” I wonder how he’s dealing with that new experience. It certainly doesn’t appear to be anything he’s tried in the past.

Seriously, I wonder if the judge who didn’t sentence him to serve any time in the slammer has since thought “I really wish I’d done this differently”?
