Trump Sinks Deep Into Hypocrisy Quicksand. Again.

It was only a week or so ago that I noted that Donald Trump was criticizing Obama for his “failed leadership” because so many products in this country are made in China — not mentioning that his own clothing line is made in China. And now he’s done it again:

Potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate and attention-seeking businessman Donald Trump has donated at least $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation, despite his criticism of the foundation’s dealings.

During a New Hampshire campaign stop back in April, Trump railed against Hillary Clinton and the accusation that the former secretary of state traded political favors in favor for donations to the Clinton Foundation.

“If this were Richard Nixon or a Republican, if this were almost anybody, there would have been an investigation already,” he said. “This is criminal. What she did was terrible. She used her office to benefit herself and her family and everybody knows it.”

Hey, guess who donated between $100,000 and $250,000 to that “criminal” foundation that only exists to benefit Hillary Clinton? Donald J. Trump himself. Just like he supported her Senate campaign back in 2000 and 2006. Gee Donald, you weren’t trying to buy political favors or anything, were you? At this point, Trump isn’t the boy who cried wolf, he’s the wolf who cried wolf.

"Good luck. He lives at the top of a giant ferrous wheel."

  • To be fair, he was just seeing how corrupt the foundation was.

  • John Pieret

Really … can’t he just get a big red rubber nose to match that thing on his head?

  • Trump isn’t the boy who cried wolf, he’s the wolf who cried wolf.

    Great line.

Trump’s hair hat dealer must of stitched his rug to deeply to his scalp, penetrating into his brain and numbing the cells that are memory. There just isn’t any other explanation for this.

Was I asleep at some point and missed the announcement that Trump has become a charity?

Someone like Trump can only flourish in this, the age of the thirty-second sound bite. Can you imagine him in, say, the mid nineteenth century, when debates (real ones, not staged sideshows) between candidates would go on for hours? Trump’s brain would have melted under the stress of trying to maintain a coherent line of thought for that long.

@ ^ carpenterman : Agreed, funny /sad how we’ve gone backwards in terms of the political debates in that way I think. With all our technology and ability to spread information and understanding in greater depth and with greater power, why have our standards of political discourse and expectations of understanding fallen so very horribly low? Why ahve we dmbed down when we could so easily have smartened up instead?

I think that first word there should be pretend really don’t you?

I’m pretty impressed with Hillary’s fund raising for the Clinton Foundation. She has gotten her political enemy, The Donald, to donate big bucks. She has gotten Saudi royalty… enemies of women’s rights… to donate big bucks to a foundation that fights for women’s rights. Damn, she’s good.

Trump’s just trying to demonstrate he’s sufficiently hypocritical to be a serious Republican presidential contender. He’s crazy like his fox hairpiece.

@ ^ Anri : .. And about as smart too!
