Minnesota Woman Terrorizes Muslim Couple

For those who still insist that there’s no such thing as Islamophobia, here’s a story that proves otherwise. A woman in Minnesota saw a Muslim couple pull up in a car in her neighborhood, decided they must be threatening and pulled a gun on them.

Majida and Adly drove just a few miles from their home in Maple Grove to the 9200 block of Woodhall Bay last Friday night to pick up their teenage son at a family friend’s home.

They were waiting in their car outside of the house, they said, when it happened.

“She said you are suspicious in this neighborhood. She told me open the window, open the window. We couldn’t do anything. I was frozen,” Majida Abumayaleh explained of the incident.

She claims, and authorities are backing her up, that 48-year-old Nancy Kay Knoble began threatening her and her husband, Adly, while they were in their car waiting for their son at around 11:00 p.m.

Majida and Adly were not armed, they were not even outside of their car but Knoble, charging documents say, was pounding on their windows demanding them to get out of the car.

But the yelling wasn’t the scariest thing Knoble was doing according to the charges against her.

“She pulled the rifle and said open the window or I’ll shoot you guys,” Adly explained.

Knoble has now been arrested and charged with assault and making terroristic threats. I guess we’ll have to add “parking while Muslim” to “driving while black.”

I don’t suppose that the license plate was “ALLAH” or “JIHAD” or something similar. Perhaps there was a crescent moon bumper sticker?

Or maybe they just looked … brown?

I wonder how confused / upset Knoble is to be charged with terror acts.

Twenty hours community service for sure!

Its good to see that Muslims have worked their way up to equality with blacks in the US.

My guess… she’s been listening to one of those right-wing Christian radio stations that Ed reports on in these pages and has become terrified/convinced that the Muslims are actually taking over. My wife works with some older ladies who listen to that crap all day long. They buy into all of the paranoid bullshit.

I’m surprised she was arrested at all much less charged with a crime with the word “terror” in it. I wonder when her gofundme account for her defense will pop up or if someone from christian group will make changes of how she’s being a patriot and is being persecuted for her beliefs.

Well, Minnesota did give us world-class dipshits like Jesse Ventura and Michelle Bachmann, so I’m not surprised.

Have you ever been to Minnesota? Follow its politics? No? You just hear a name and automatically assume the worst. Now if you name any state and I can easily disparage it by whatever local wingnut it produced. But what’s the point of that? By all measures that matter – Minnesota is heads above most states in the nation. Especially our awesome neighbor Wisconsin.

(Ventura wasn’t a bad governor … if he had a bit more patience with the job it would have had a more successful run)

Pssst – here’s a secret. Iowa has been exporting teh crazy.

    Michele Bachmann? Born in Iowa.

Scott Walker? Spent much of his childhood in Iowa.

Jesse Ventura actually did actually grow up in Minnesota. He used to divide his time between saying sensible things that no politician should say and spouting batshit lunacy.

But her intent was good , right ? After all how was she to know if they didn’t have a ticking time bomb in their car ?

regexp. Matter of fact, I have lived in Mn, briefly and in WI for much longer. I was raised in NC, VA, LA and GA. When it comes to bigotry, Minnesota nice only goes so far. Who the fuck elected Bachmann, elves? And her moron successor? So STFU about what I know and where I’ve lived. And tell me, by how many votes did Al Franken beat Norm Coleman?

Glad she was charged! SHE is the true terrorist.

    Damn, I hate stupid people.

  • Trebuchet

She’s been arrested? Obviously just more persecution of Christians!

You know, here in N.J. we don’t pull guns for that racist bullshit. When we pull guns, we do it for *good* reasons; like getting cut off on the fuckin’ Turnpike.

You know, I kind of miss Jesse Ventura. “I ain’t got time to bleed.” Classic.

@11 It’s my understanding that Bachmann was elected only because she had one of the most Gerrymandered districts in the country. California for example could easily have a Bachmann under similar circumstances. Additionally, Jesse Ventura only really went off the deep end after his tenure as governor.

It’s a lesson on vigilantism. See, if she’d just called the cops, they would’ve shot the scary brown people for her, and never been charged.
