NBC Dumps The Donald Over Racist Immigration Remarks

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is off to a brilliant start, with him declaring that Mexican immigrants to America are “rapists” and that Mexico sends its worst people here. First Univision and now NBC have dumped his Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.

NBC is ending its long relationship with Donald Trump in the wake of the presidential hopeful’s recent comments about Mexican immigrants.

NBC said it will no longer carry the Trump-produced Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants. Nor will he return to the long-running reality show “The Celebrity Apprentice” as host.

“Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump,” NBC said in a statement. “At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values.”

I can’t wait to hear Trump’s sputtering, incoherent, rage-filled and inevitably self-aggrandizing response. I imagine something like this:

“NBC knows that once I become president they’ll be out of business because I’ll solve every problem in the first two weeks and they’ll have nothing to report on. The liberal media is afraid of me because they know I’m the most successful, awe-inspiring and brilliant person to ever run for president. It’s a conspiracy between NBC and the Mexicans to stop me because they know that once I make America great again, billions of people will demand that I become president of the whole world.”

I can’t wait to hear Trump’s sputtering, incoherent, rage-filled and inevitably self-aggrandizing response.

The only thing he’ll have to console himself with will be the bump in the polls among Republican primary voters.

Al Sharpton still draws an NBC check, so NBC must insist that some racists are more racist than other racists.

My question: why would Trump want any affiliation with NBC scum to begin with?

  • dingojack

Wow — who knew Al Sharpton worked for NBC way back in the early sixties, where Lil Dookie lives?

  • http://en.uncyclopedia.co/wiki/User:Modusoperandi Modusoperandi

To be fair, MSNBC only hired Sharpton to protect them from all those Mexican rapists.

This is a PSA: Dukedog aka Egnorator aka fuckwit extraordinaire is a vile racist fuck.

Thank you for your attention, and now back to our regular programming.

Trump reported that he quit. Which of course he would. BTW, once he becomes an official candidate–meaning that he fills out the paperwork for it–wouldn’t NBC have to more or less drop him anyway?

All those shows are, always have been, crap. First among equals in the ‘one hundred channels and nothing on’ trend. I think the old community service channels, broadcast studios left open for anyone to produce a show and get it aired would be better than Trump’s offerings, or any of the reality TV shows.

As a kid I remember watching a amateur production of “How to make a paper airplane”. A gripping and informative series that was head-and-shoulders over Celebrity Apprentice.

IIRC I heard Trump has said something along the lines of “I have to be the one to end the relationship.” By Trump standards, it sounded like half-assed bluster.

@2 Sharpton has been racist in the distant past (“white interloper!” in 1995) and has apologized for that remark. Trump’s verbal diarrhea about Mexicans was barely two weeks ago, and he stands by this remarks. Apples, meet oranges.

  • dan4

@10 “his remarks,” not “this remarks.”

  • dan4

…and generalizing a group of people as “rapists” is a big stronger than generalizing a group of people as “interlopers” (at least to reasonable and rational people, anyway, which is why I’m sure that Egnor will disagree with this point).

Apparently, this may have already been in the works; the Rachel Maddow Show pointed out that since Trump is both producer of TV programming (the Miss Universe competition) and a presidential candidate, there’s a potential violation of the letter of some FCC/FEC rules — much the reason Mike Huckabee had to quit working at Fox News.

I thought all those illeagle Messicaners had thighs the size of cantaloupes. How does one rape with bulging thighs?

    (Asking for a friend.)

  • dougthebox

@14: It’s CALVES the size of cantaloupes.

    Thighs? That’s just ridiculous
