Markell: Gay Marriage Makes America Like China or North Korea

End-times fanatic Jan Markell was a guest on Bryan Fischer’s radio show, guest hosted by Fred Jackson, and she went on a long diatribe about how the government is now going to shut down churches for not performing same-sex marriages, just like North Korea and China.

“We are truly exiles in our own country now,” she stated. “The Bible foretold that the world would hate us for doing what is right and it also foretold that there would come a time when the generation would be called perilous … and I think we’re there.”

“Righteous Christians are truly beyond grieved,” she continued. “They can’t believe that this has happened, not just in the lifetime, but within a relatively short period of time, within a five to seven year period of time, it just seems like not just the world has been turned over to evil, but it seems like the greatest nation that certainly in the last many hundreds of years has been turned over to a reprobate mind.”

“We may be totally silenced,” Markell warned. “Who knows? American Family Radio, Olive Tree Ministries, maybe we’ll be shut down. It would not surprise me at all … They talk like this in North Korea, in China but now we’re talking like this in America and I can only consider that it’s probably judgment on us because too much of America has gone astray spiritually.”

Actually, same-sex marriage is not recognized in China at all, and certainly not in North Korea.

They’d probably love North Korea. If you simply substitute the word “God” for the name of their Dear Leader, it’s the closest approximation you could have to Heaven on earth. It’s basically a self-contained theocracy with the lives of its citizens drenched in praise, worship, obedience, humility, and above all faith. And so sayeth Christopher Hitchens, too.

All this projection just reveals how much they want to control everyone around them, and would if they could. The notion of leaving people alone, even if you disagree with them, does not compute.

I saw Jan Markell and the End-Times Fanatics back at MusicWest in ’96. Bryan Fischer’s Radio Show opened for them. They were awful.

It’s interesting that 62% of white mainline Protestants, 56% of Catholics and even 27% of white Evangelicals are ‘No True Christians’.

“We are truly exiles in our own country now,”

Which country would that be exactly and how badly does she know her own lands history?

The US of A was secular from the start and as Christian countries go, well, there’s the Vatican (Catholic) and er.. um .. dunno. Gotta be some Protestant ones. England and its Commonwealth (Hey that’s us here in Oz!) are technically maybe kinda ~ish Church of England anglican or summin’ .. by virtue of always having an hereditary monarch as head of state. Russian is Orthodox – Russian brand (or was it Greek /Serb / Armenian just to confuse us?) Nowhere specifically springs to mind as a national official Protestant cult of Markell’s which is , dunno anyhow?

American Family Radio, Olive Tree Ministries, maybe we’ll be shut down. It would not surprise me at all …

Really? I’d be very seriously fucken surprised if that happens anytime soon – or even in my lifetime. Evidence suggesting that’s even remotely likely is, well, bought seperately I’d guess yeah?

It’s perhaps rather telling this nutter used N.Korea and Big China as examples, two notorious non-democracies. It seems that SSM, and civil unions, are generally not-recognized throughout much of SE Asia, including Japan, Island China, Singapore, S.Korea, and so on. There was no reason to restrict yourself to totalitarian regimes, except that it is probably harder to check on the other details of the lies. Which, admittedly, do sound scarier when you invoke Dear Leader and The Ghosts of Tienanmen (a truly awful thrash metal band).

I read some time ago that Vietnam may be the first country in East Asia to legalize same sex marriage.

Vietnam apparently did try a few years back to legalize it, but instead wound up simply not fining people who had one. It’s still illegal, as are civil unions. And, if I am understanding correctly, local authorities can still interfere, albeit I’ve no idea if that has ever happened, or, for that matter, how many SSMs have been attempted / done in Vietnam.

Island China also tried legalizing it, but, as I understand it, dropped the proposal after loud opposition.

Either Island China or S.Korea — apologies, I don’t clearly recall now — has or had a lawsuit by a same-sex married couple trying to force recognition of their marriage.

Well of course most of SE Asia doesn’t allow SSM, otherwise Tony “Budgie-Smuggler” Abbott would have to let his party have a conscience vote, and that’s not gonna happen (if he can help it)*.

    * A member of Tony’s ‘team’ actually suggested, seriously, that Australia shouldn’t allow SSM because it might ‘offend’ SEA countries. Never stopped Tones, and his fellow clowns, from insulting ‘scary’ foreigners on other issues, mind you, but this one’s different because of … reasons. (Perhaps it’s an ‘on water’ excuse)

“The Bible foretold that the world would hate us ”

The tribes of Christians have been hating one another since their religion began – another self-fulfilling prophecy.
