Donald Trump seems to suffer from dictator envy. In an absolutely bizarre set of remarks, he said you have to give totalitarian communist dictator Kim Jong-Un of North Korea “credit” for having killed all of his rivals after his father died, including his uncle, in order to consolidate his power. Because yeah, that’s really praiseworthy, isn’t it Donald?
Republican primary front-runner Donald Trump says North Korean communist dictator Kim Jong-un deserves “credit” for the cutthroat efficiency with which he disposes of his political foes.
“If you look at North Korea, this guy, he’s like a maniac, OK?” Trump said at a rally in Ottumwa, Iowa, on Saturday.“And you’ve got to give him credit: How many young guys — he was like 26 or 25 when his father died — take over these tough generals and all of a sudden, you know, it’s pretty amazing when you think of it. How does he do that?” he added.
“Even though it is a culture, and it’s a culture thing, he goes in, he takes over, he’s the boss. It’s incredible.”…
“I mean, it’s amazing that a young guy would go over and take over,” Trump said Thursday on Fox News’ “On the Record.” “You know, you would have thought that these tough generals would have said no way this is gonna happen when the father died.
“So he’s gotta have something going for him, because he kept control, which is amazing for a young person to do,” he added.
See, this is what happens when you do stream-of-consciousness rants as campaign speeches. Anything that pops into his head, he just says. And it not only hasn’t hurt him, it’s helped him. I’m beginning to suspect that this country is just screwed.
