It’s been obvious for a long time that Donald Trump is perhaps the least self-aware human being ever to exist. Now his wife Melania is challenging him for that title, saying in a speech the other day that as First Lady, she would try to end cyber-bullying. Seriously.
Melania Trump promised to work against cyberbullying and for a more civil society as first lady in a speech here Thursday, saying “our culture has gotten too mean and too rough” — sounding nothing at all like her husband, whose history of insults and name-calling is a central part of his candidacy for president.
“As adults, many of us are able to handle mean words, even lies,” she said in a speech aimed at winning over more female voters. “They hurt when they are made fun of or made to feel less in looks or intelligence. We have to find a better way to talk to each other, to disagree with each other, to respect each other.”…“We need to teach our youth American values: kindness, honesty, respect, compassion, charity, understanding, cooperation,” she said.
Okay, one question comes to mind:
You’re married to Donald Trump, for crying out loud, and you think we need more honesty, compassion and charity? If you really believed that, you’d put a pillow over his head while he slept because dying is the only possible way that he’s ever going to boost the ratio of those traits. Jesus Christ, how is it possible to say something like that with a straight face?
