Paula White and Jim Bakker, Together at Last

Paula White, Trump’s “spiritual adviser” (I suspect because they’re both on their third marriages, her third being to the keyboardist from Journey), says that opposition to Trump is opposition to God because God put him in there. But it’s a curiously inconsistent argument.

Right-wing prepper pastor Jim Bakker interviewed televangelist Paula White, who is one of President Trump’s key spiritual advisers, on his television program today, where she declared that opposition to the president is opposition to God and explicitly praised Trump for not sounding or acting presidential.

“Thank goodness,” she said. “In other words, he’s not a polished politician. In other words, he’s authentically—whether people like him or not, he’s been raised up by God because God says that He raises up and places all people in places of authority. It is God that raises up a king, it is God that sets one down and so when you fight against the plan of God, you’re fighting against the hand of God.”

Okay, so it’s God that puts political leaders in power and therefore it’s opposition to God if you try to thwart them or remove them from power. So why didn’t this apply to Obama? Why wasn’t White out there preaching that the Republicans were in opposition to God when they tried to impeach Bill Clinton? Because she’s a liar and this is not a serious argument, it’s a ridiculous claim that is credible only to her ignorant and irrational followers. They’re just like her third husband, they can’t stop believing.
