Now if only surveys like this actually mattered, we’d be getting somewhere.

    Why’d it have to add a sentence of argumentation after each answer? What if I want to say “Yes, because I’m American and I don’t trust in a god,” or “No, it would cost too much to erase it from all those pennies”?

    How does it feel to effectively command 140,000 people?

    That is the change in the Yes vote since the first post, where as the No vote has hardly changed at all.

    Unfortunately, it looks like the poll is 3 years old. Just below the results, there is a link asking you to return to the story, which is dated Nov. 18, 2005.

    I am from the UK so perhaps I am just stupid. Can someone explain how this apparent change occurred in such a short time?

    John: the reason is that people sent messages about this poll in Pharyngula (PZ Myers’ blog). This one, for example. And there were another message in another thread.
