Announcing the Secular Coalitions for California and Massachusetts!

A few months ago, Secular Coalition for America Executive Director Edwina Rogers embarked on an ambitious plan to launch affiliates in every state before the end of the year.

We already have Secular Coalitions in Arizona, Alabama, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina.

Today, the SCA is adding two more states to their list: California and Massachusetts!

The Secular Coalition for California will be headed up by Roger Schlueter and Caleb Weaver:

“California has a nationwide reputation as an innovative state where new ideas in education, government and industry are born and rise to prominence,” Schlueter said. “The presence of the Secular Coalition in California will insure that this innovation stays true to our time-tested constitutional values particularly in the area of church state separation.”

Also, the Secular Coalition for Massachusetts will be headed up by two great activists in our movement: Ellery Schempp and Zachary Bos:

Schempp said the importance of a separation between religion and government is more important now than ever.

“Separation of church and state is the essential social and political element for all non-believers,” Schempp said. “Church authorities and agendas with anti-humanist dogmas must not gain power to control ‘morality’ for all.”

Seven states down. 43 to go…

Would you be trumpeting the SCA so loudly had they selected a white supremacist to represent them, Hemant?
