7 Reasons Why People Believe in God and Don’t Accept Evolution

The video below, part of The Atheist Voice series, discusses Chris Mooney‘s article in which he explains why “it’s easier for humans to believe in God than evolution“:

Just pointing out yet another Christian that has never actually read the bible, a point completely obvious to everyone with an IQ above 50.

—So yes, a theory that requires me to somehow believe that the ability
for sentience or sapience simply “happened out of nowhere” rather than
we descended from a creature, or a being—

So… where did the creature or being we descended from originate?

Plato never appealed to scientific or materialistic arguments for dualism. You seriously need to take at least one philosophical course. Plato’s reasoning for dualism was based on reason and rationalism. Try also reading F.C. Copleston, for he addresses the distinction between Platonic dualism and St. Thomas Aquinas’s position on the soul (hylomorphic).

There are Christians who accept the theory of evolution. You try and make a dichotomy between evolution and God by postulating why people believe in God over evolution. This is a misleading statement. You might also try reading St. Augustine or Origen.

Nor does religion improve morals. That’ only another lie told by the religious reich to justify their continued control over others.

If our society is going by the wayside, it is the fault of religion. Are you saying that a minority of atheists and non-believers can totally overrule the “moral” majority?

If the religious were truly moral, they would not behave with the smug arrogance y0ou demonstrate here.
