Mohamed Ibrahim is the big bad brain behind MoCartoons! I love MoCartoons. Mr. Ibrahim is an ex-Muslim. What you may not know is that I am probably one, too. One of the times he appeared on the Naked Diner podcast he had me say some magical words three times and that supposedly made me a follower of Allah.
I never got my membership card in the mail. If the Satanic Temple can mail me a membership card, then I don’t see why Allah can’t.
He wrote a post the other day titled Islam’s Unforgivable Sin.
The post starts off with these two quotes of Islamic wisdom:
“Whoever changes his Islamic faith, then kill him.”
I like it when authors start their post with a bang. It draws me in to gander at what’s inside.
“O ye who believe! Ask not questions about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble. But if ye ask about things when the Qur’an is being revealed, they will be made plain to you, Allah will forgive those: for Allah is Oft- forgiving, Most Forbearing. Some people before you did ask such questions, and on that account lost their faith.”
—Quran 5:101 – 5:102
The comic in the article addresses the concept of shirk. Shirk means “disbelief in God and his Oneness.” It’s an unforgivable act. Commit it and you’re going to Muslim Hell.
It strikes me as similar to the Christian idea of sinning against the Holy Spirit. Sorry, Charlie, no heaven for you.
Here’s the accompanying comic:
The rest of the post is worth reading. The creator goes on to say why shirk in many ways is worse than murder for many Muslims.
