Quoting Quiverfull: Small Christian Families Are the Enemy?

by Colin Campbell from Meat For Men: Above Rubies – The Biblical Father Sees His Children as Rewards (And a Threat to the Enemy!)  Part 14D

Who in their right mind would want to turn away the rewards that God values and gives? If we do not value what God values, there is something seriously wrong with our thinking. Furthermore, God says that a man is blessed if He has a quiver full of “rewards.” The majority of the present church fails to realize that Satan himself is acutely opposed to quiver full families because the larger the Christian family, the greater threat to his kingdom.

Men, do we realize that the main enemy of the devil is godly Christians who are being raised in godly homes and godly churches? I have often heard people say that it’s not about numbers. This statement is true, but God’s Word has to be interpreted by all Scripture.

Huh? So all scripture supports having unlimited amounts of children as long as you’re the right kind of Christian? I’m no Bible scholar but I don’t think the sum total of that book is a treatise on mass child production.
And.. rewards only cry in the stinky diapered form? And.. if blessings only come in the form of children, then infertile people are cursed? And children are rewards like trophies..not human beings…but we’re pro-life of course?
And…men? Men? Are men going to be bearing these unlimited quivers? Why include that word.
I wish God would “reward” fundies with a greater understanding of logic.

“God’s Word has to be interpreted by all Scripture.” So… No cutting hair, no trimming beard, no eating shellfish and so on?

Who needs logic when you have the Bible? (Interpreted the way that that you like best, of course.)

And how do they explain welfare mothers popping out one baby after another to increase their benefits? What are they being rewarded for? And yes, I am well aware that far from all mothers on welfare are taking advantage of the system that way, but the fact that it ever happens argues against all children being a reward from ‘god.’

Oh, that’s different. God only means children are blessings if they are white, anglo-saxon and evangelical. Dark-skinned and ethnic people having multiple children are the minions of Satan.

  • Trollface McGee

He does limit the babies of mass production to “Christians.” I assume if you are on welfare, you aren’t the proper type of “Christian…” or you’re under some sort of generational curse because your great-great-grandfather masturbated once and you deserve a lifetime of suffering and poverty.. or it’s the fault of the gays and feminists and Obama since they’re to blame for like everything.
It’s funny because the super-fundies in Israel pretty much are all on welfare because they men are “forbidden” from working and they banned girls getting a college education that they used to be able to have so they could at least have some sort of decent work-from-home income. But that’s all God’s plan or something.

Yep – and Israel’s super-fundies (ultra Orthodox) also have children without birth control…

God didn’t say a quiver full of children is a blessing. David said it while writing a psalm and possibly while mourning the death of his son.

And make sure you don’t have any cotton-polyester pants hang in your closet!

There you go, bringing content into it.

Remember, every word of the Bible was actually intended for the 21st century United States. (end sarcasm, in case anyone thinks I was serious.)
