News: Raping For Jesus Because Bible

News story came out of Florida in which a man and his wife sexually abused an orphaned girl living in their home from the time she was 13 until 18 years old. Their justification? The Bible. Raping for Jesus.Turns out that the couple, Rob and Marie Johnnson, follow many of the same views as guys like Biblical Gender Roles from the Old Testament that allows multiple 'wives' and believes there is no such thing as marital rape. Thankfully, the law doesn't agree with them or BGR. They've been arrested. … [Read more...]

“I Am Oswin Oswald. I Fought The Daleks And I Am Human. Remember Me.”

by Nora Woodhouse cross posted from her blog A Heart Like MineWhen dealing with FOO (family of origin) that is dysfunctional; any encounter can feel like you have stepped into a strange world in which you've encountered Daleks and they promptly set about their agenda of exterminating you. In real life i is not an encounter with physical harm (though sometimes) but one where your spirit gets exterminated even when you put up a good fight. And just like with the Daleks a dysfunctional FOO will try to get at you anyway they can, whether it's "extermination" or like with Oswin Oswald- assimilation. Either way you feel like you lose pieces of yourself and have gotten mired in toxic muck. It … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Part 2 – A Woman’s Submission Determines Her Husband’s Success?

by Lori Alexander of Always Learning - Are You Preventing Your Husband's Success?Editor's note: I'm afraid this isn't any better than yesterday's bit. She's still venturing into legal territory she has no business in. You cannot refuse to hire someone merely based on how their marriage appears to you from the outside. Interviewing people who know the family is pretty extreme and invasive. They might check the applicant's social media accounts, but not everyone in the family. She claims this is what large corporations does. No, no they do not. They may run psychological testing, such as a personality test to determine your honesty levels or to make sure you are emotionally stable. Some … [Read more...]

Justin Harris Getting “Courage” Award Tonight From Ted Cruz After Rehoming Adopted Daughters With Rapist

by Suzanne TitkemeyerFrom the 'Oh my Gawd this is effing insane!' file comes news in the Arkansas Times that Arkansas Rep. Justin Harris is going to be receiving an award tonight from the Family Council Action Committee at a fundraising dinner for Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz. Why is Harris receiving the award? Because of the 'courage' he supposedly exhibited when the entire nation was angry at his rehoming his two young adopted daughters with a sexual predator that preys on children. Seriously, he's receiving a "Power of Courage" award! … [Read more...]

Answering “Preparing To Be A Help Meet” – What To Do If Your Husband Acts Like A Child

Another installment of giving better answers to the questions asked at Debi Pearl’s site message board for the book ‘Preparing To Be A Help Meet’. Many young ladies ask questions on all sorts of different subjects brought up by the book. There was just one big problem, many of the answers stray into either the outright bad and emotionally unhealthy to dangerous. Yes, typical Debi Pearl borderline abusive. Here’s what we’re going to be doing here at NLQ. Every week, once or twice a week, I’ll be posting up one of the questions from the message board and ask you, our readers, to answer that poor soul’s question in a way that is logical, rational and the best possible solution, in other words 18 … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Part 1 – A Woman’s Submission Determines Her Husband’s Success?

by Lori Alexander of Always Learning - Are You Preventing Your Husband's Success?Editor's note: I believe what Mrs. Alexander is saying here about rejecting possible employees based upon how submissive their wives are violates national labor law. Seems like this would fall under the protections in place to keep employers discriminating against potential employees based on religion and/or sex. She should be careful not to post her reasoning for rejecting candidates online like this where anyone can see it and use it against her in court. Either way, the idea of a wife's submission being key to the success or failure of his career is laughable at best.  There are careers where the ability … [Read more...]

A Few Thoughts on Abortion and Planned Parenthood Videos

by Bruce Gerencser cross posted from his blog The Life and Times of Bruce GerencserI’ve been asked to give my take on the Planned Parenthood videos. When it comes to Planned Parenthood’s mission, to provide healthcare to women, I am 100% in their corner. Providing abortions is a small part of Planned Parenthood’s services, and defunding Planned Parenthood would have a deleterious effect on the health of poor women. Attempts to defund Planned Parenthood are driven by religious belief and bad science. We live in a secular state, one that supposedly separates church and state and one that values science; yet, when it comes to abortion, the debate is framed by religious claims that result … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Fathers Matter Little In Raising Godly Children?

by Nancy Campbell from Above Rubies - Your Powerful InfluenceEditor's note: Nancy seems to be dismissing the important of a father in the lives of children, denying all that patriarchy blathering she's done for years now. So, which is it? Fathers and husbands are all powerful and must be obeyed, or it's alright to not bow to them if they aren't being what you would consider a 'Good Christian Man'? I am confused. … [Read more...]

“Lies Women Believe” Review: 27 – 44

by Samantha Field cross posted from her blog Samantha Field.ComThis chapter introduces us to the methodology that Nancy will be using through the rest of Lies Women Believe. If you’ve read the book before you’re probably familiar with “Eve’s diary,” where Nancy fictionalizes an autobiographical telling of Eve’s life, starting with the day she’s exiled from the Garden. The first time I read this in college, I actually skipped these sections because I found them boring– Nancy’s strength isn’t narrative writing. … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Being Hated Is Godly?

by Steven L. Anderson from Faithful Word Baptist Church - You are the reason people hate Christians!Editor's note: Perfect illustration of what Christian Martyrbating looks like. If his goal is to get people to hate him I'd say he's well accomplished that. Anderson is coming to DC in September to do another 'soul winning' on the streets. … [Read more...]
