Quoting Quiverfull: Duggar Family Compared Abortion to Slavery?

standtruerape

This one is from a Korean gossip site but it appears to be true. Visited the Duggar Instagram site and sure enough, they are using an offensive graphic linking abortion to slavery. Cannot copy the graphic so I'm just linking to it on their Instagram. It's from a Pro Life site called StandTrueDotCom, which is linked to Operation Rescue and run by prominent pro-lifer Bryan Kemper from Ohio. The graphics at the site are pretty over the top and we'll be posting a number of them at the end of this post. From KPopStarz.com - '19 Kids and Counting' Duggar Family Compares Abortion to Slavery on Instagram: Twitter Users Outrage, Jessa Duggar Retweets to Support … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: God Will Use the Ebola Outbreak to Cleanse Away Non-Believers?

plague

spoken by Rick Wiles of the End Times Radio Show. From  Right Wing Watch - 'Ebola Could Solve America's Problems With Atheism and Homosexuality'(Editor's note: It's pretty obvious from what Rick said that he has no real knowledge on how Ebola spreads and the plans the CDC has to treat anyone coming down with the disease in the USA. He is thinking this is going to be a pandemic on the level with the Black Plague. Ebola is not airborne, it can only be spread via exposure to bodily fluids. It's not wrong to be concerned about Ebola in our country, but it is pretty wrong to fear-monger and hope it kills off those that don't agree with you.) … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: The Poor Should Starve?

Hagee is advocating a return to the starving of American citizens like what happened in the Great Depression of the 1930s.

Over the course of today and tomorrow we'll be posting only  Quoting Quiverfull. There's a huge backlog of quotes to be posted here so we're going to do a Quoting Quiverfull marathon to deal with all the things being said out in the blogosphere in the Christian Patriarchal Movement. Starting with Pastor John Hagee and his different understanding of scriptures on the poor.Pastor John Hagee's thoughts on welfare recipients - Christian Pastor: God Says 'Nasty' Welfare Recipients Should Work or Starve  From Right Wing Watch and Americans Against The Tea Party (video available at both sites) … [Read more...]

Submissive No More

impatiens (2)

by AJ cross posted from her blog I am PhoenixI have had this huge epiphany in the last couple of weeks. My discovery:-It is OK to express anger in healthy ways, even if this means yelling.-Forced female to male submission is abusive. When a man yells at a woman and doesn't "allow" her to defend herself or yell back, that is abuse.I am realizing for the first time in my life that my lifelong habit of never raising my voice in anger, even when someone is screaming at me and being abusive...possibly isn't as healthy as I thought it was.It was my mother flipping out on me over the phone and email this past month that triggered this epiphany. … [Read more...]

Quoting Quiverfull: Respect Your Husband Above All Else?

i respect my husband

from the blog The Respected Husband - Marriage Instructions: Roles and Responsibilities Before we move on to the responsibilities of the husband, I want to end this section by sharing a statement from David Platt, “Your respect for your husband is not based on his performance but is based on God’s call and command in your life as his wife. Revere Christ through submission to your husbands. Respect them. Honor them. Build them up. That’s God’s responsibility for wives. … [Read more...]

by Adam Gregorin from his blog Minthegap.com - So What's There to Talk About? Review of Lou Priolo's book "The Complete Husband"(Editor's Note: Remember this guy? CTBHHM: Men Can’t Take Criticism (Ever)

by Libby Anne cross posted from her blog Love, Joy, FeminismCreated To Be His Help Meet, pp. 194—195This intro matter confuses me a bit.The Skinny Swine Lack of Judgement “Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands” (Proverbs 14:1).  “A wise woman doesn’t attempt to instruct her husband through feigned questions. Her questions will be sincere inquiries concerning his will.”  The skinny woman who inspired this next list of questions doubtless saw herself as a kind person, wonderful mother, and first-rate wife, yet she was tearing down her house one question at a time.I do not get the swine bit, or the skinny bit. Apostate: Preface

apostate

by Lana Hope cross posted from her blog Wide Open Ground(Editor's note: Kevin Swanson is still promoting this book at least two or three times per broadcast nearly a year after publication. Wondering how the sales figures stack up against his other books. He's running it at half off right now.) I’m going to walk through the problems in several chapters in Kevin Swanson’s book Apostate. So I’ll start with the preface and an introduction to the author. Kevin Swanson, who studied engineering in the university, is a homeschool dad who documents the breakdown of the Christian faith in the western world on his podcast Generation with Vision. On his podcast, he’s been mocking the bloggers and … [Read more...]
