Fundraising Goal Met: Thank You!

mealsI just wanted to leave a quick note to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who donated to our Humanist Community at Harvard Values in Action meal packing event for kids in need this weekend. Thanks to your generosity, we raised $5,000 in 1 day (for a total of $10,000 raised), enabling hundreds of religious and nonreligious people to come together to build understanding and pack 40,000 meals for food insecure children. We just finished loading up all of the boxes full of meals and sent them off to agencies around Boston, and are feeling exhausted, inspired, and grateful. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, helped pack meals, or supported this event in some way—in particular the Foundation Beyond BeliefBoston Interfaith Campus CoalitionHarvard Chaplains, Harvard Interfaith Council, Greater Boston Humanists, Secular Student Alliance, Interfaith Youth Core, and countless individuals. (And a special shoutout to Walker Bristol and Chelsea Link, pictured here with me and the boxes of packaged meals, who worked tirelessly to make this event possible.)

For those of you who donated and entered the raffle to win one of three signed copies of Faitheist: we’ll be getting in touch with the winners as soon as possible.

Thanks again for all of your support, and for helping to feed thousands of children in Massachusetts just in time for Thanksgiving.

With appreciation,
