Polish priest claims Lego is a ‘tool of satan’ destroying children’s souls

Lego’s new line of Monster Fighters and Zombie mini-figures are tools of Satan that can destroy a child’s soul according to a popular Polish priest.

Father Slawomir Kostrzewa claims Lego is, in fact, a tool of Satan that can lead children to the dark side and destroy their souls, saying its miniature depictions of vampires, ghosts and werewolves are turning children over “to the dark side.”

Speaking in a Lent service directed at parents in the Polish town of Wolsztyn, Father Kostrzewa

said the popular Danish toy company had taken a lurch to the “dark side” with its series of Monster Fighters and Zombie mini-figures, and that they “were about darkness and the world of death.”

“Friendly fellows have been replaced by dark monsters,” he explained. “These toys can have a negative effect on children. They can destroy their souls and lead them to the dark side.”

Kostrzewa mourned the lost innocence of the hugely popular Danish toy, noting that until recently, Lego bricks represented a “very desirable toy for children, because of their educational value.”

According to reports Kostrzewa pointed to New Zealand research that showed Lego facial expressions have become angrier and are increasingly based on conflict, and that this could affect children’s development.

“Facial expressions maybe lead to confusion between good and evil,” he said, noting that “It appears the good suffer in battle and the ‘villains’ have a face showing satisfaction with their evil deeds.”

Lego is not the first toy considered evil by the outspoken priest. According to reports in Polish media, Father Kostrzewa has previously railed against My Little Pony and Hello Kitty, saying the latter promotes “violence and the pornography industry”.

Father Kostrzewa has previously accused toy manufacturers of either cooperating with Satanic sects or actively being part of them.

Tools of the devil?
