Obnoxious street preacher is hit over the head with a baseball bat.
Controversial Arizona street preacher Brother Dean Saxton was assaulted by an angry woman with a baseball bat while preaching outside Apollo High School earlier this month.
Nineteen-year-old Tabitha Brubaker says she hit Saxton over the head with a baseball bat to stop what she considered “hate speech.”
As a result of her actions Brubaker has been charged with a felony assault, according to authorities.
Saxton is a controversial and obnoxious street preacher who has spent years preaching outside Valley high schools and colleges. He is known for denouncing homosexuality and holding signs telling women they deserve rape for not being true Christians, all the while using a megaphone to tell anyone who will listen that they are going to hell.
Saxton posted a video of his street preaching at Apollo High School earlier this month. In the video viewers can hear him being hit (The sound of a metal bat striking a hard object) as he’s ambushed from behind. However, Brubaker does not appear in the video.
On the video the crowd can be heard to cheer right after the sound of the bat meeting Saxton’s head.
Saxton was able to walk away from the assault, clearly bleeding from a gash on his head.
In the video Saxton can be seen yelling his message outside the high school before the assault takes place. Using his megaphone Saxton screams:
The Bible says it’s not okay to be gay! You need to stop doing naughty, nasty things, Apollo High School! You need to stop looking up naughty, nasty things on the Internet!
Many of you Apollo High schoolers are going to hell!
Saxton needed eight staples to close the wound on his head.
