Americans rejoice: Senator Ted Cruz says masturbation with sex toys is OK, declaring “Let people do what they want.”
In his first interview after “liking” a steamy porn video on Twitter, Texas Senator Ted Cruz explained that the Twitter porn scandal was an “honest mistake.” Cruz went on to deny that he was responsible for “liking” the porn video on Twitter, instead blaming the incident on an “unnamed intern.”
I promise you, the staffer feels terrible.
During the interview, CNN correspondent Dana Bash asked Cruz about previous statements he made as the Texas solicitor general, a post he held from 2003 to 2008. At that time Cruz defended a Texas ban on the sale of dildos and other sex toys, and in so doing made the absurd claim that Americans have no right to masturbate:
There is no substantive-due-process right to stimulate one’s genitals for non-medical purposes unrelated to procreation or outside of an interpersonal relationship.
CNN’s Bash brought up the incident during the interview, and asked Cruz if he still had a problem with people buying and using sex toys. Cruz replied:
I spent five and a half years as the solicitor general in Texas, I worked for the attorney general. The attorney general’s job is to defend the laws passed by the Texas legislature. One of those laws was a law restricting the sale of sex toys, which is a stupid law.
Listen, I am one of the most libertarian members of the Senate. I think it’s idiotic….
Getting to the point, Bash said:
I can’t believe I’m going to ask you this, but so you’re officially saying Ted Cruz is okay with people buying sex toys?
Looking moist, Cruz answered:
Consenting adults should be able to do whatever they want in their bedrooms.
Bottom line: The news is good – Senator Ted Cruz says it’s okay to stimulate your genitals.
