Thoughts on Earth Day April 22, 2012

In Scientology, one of the core beliefs is that mankind does not survive alone, but rather in brotherhood with the universe.

In each of us is eight urges toward survival, which includes the urge to survive as life forms and with the help of life forms such as animals, birds, insects, fish and vegetation.

In his concern for the alarming deterioration of morals and ethical values he observed in the 1970s, L. Ron Hubbard wrote a nonreligious moral code based entirely on common sense.  He called it The Way to Happiness and it is used today by people of all faiths and beliefs as a guideline for a happier life.  It comprises 21 precepts, including “safeguard and improve your environment.”  Here is a video about that precept:
