Blog Changes

I’ve finally bit the bullet and asked to be included among the administrators of this blog. So, I’ve made some changes to the appearance of the blog. I’d welcome comments and advice about whether this helps or hurts readability.

I’ve also been deleting comments by “DM” as they appear. I’ve tried to identify and block his IP, following the advice of “shreddakj”; but either it hasn’t worked so far or it hasn’t kicked in. If he’s still around by tomorrow, I’m going to temporarily institute moderation for comments. I seriously dislike having to do that, but maybe we can wait until DM finds a new hobby other than mindlessly disrupting comments sections.

Thank you for deleting the DM comments. They have no relevance to the specific content of our blog posts, are repititious, confused, and have nothing of significance to contribute.

The print is a little small, but I guess I can always press Ctrl + to make it bigger.

Occasionally Dennis uses another proxy to spam my blog, but he seems only to comment once or twice a week (although I havn't posted for a week). For a while when I had no IP blocker he was commenting about 20 times a day on my blog. I have his primary IP address blocked (I assume it's the IP address of his favourite internet cafe).

    The new layout looks good!

Best of luck dealing with your troll.

DM is surprisingly persistent. He's been trying to get his garbage on my blog for years. If you don't want to have to do full comment moderation (and who does), you might want to consider moving to Intense Debate. It makes it fairly easy to do selective moderation – perfect for someone like DM.

shreddakj, I wonder if you could send me the IP you're blocking for DM. Yesterday I thought I had tracked it down, but I'm not entirely sure, so I'd like to confirm it if possible.

Thanks, Taner for taking on this task. Let me remind everyone, DM is not only a nut, he also has posted death threats. These need to be taken seriously and reported to the police.

And all this time I associated this blog as mainly being Taner Edis' blog, and the rest were like guests.

The clouds remind me of the heaven that awaits me after I die…….Or maybe just my next plane trip. :)

But seriously, the readability is fine now, if not slightly better.

I think it would also be helpful for anyone who's had even one comment from DM to report him to Blogger.

If anyone knows where he lives, it might also be helpful to report him to the local mental health agency. He's obviously a schizophrenic who's gone off his meds.
