"Neither protagonist appeals at any point to intuition, or gut feeling, or a leap of faith."

He lost me right away here, both Bill and Walter appeal to intuition in their particular moral argument.

It's funny you mention that; I had a very similar reaction when I read that exact same sentence. Craig's defense of objective moral values is clearly based on an appeal to intuition.

Yes Jeff, and to be honest Walter's too; he is indeed a Social Intuitionist, you can see that when Bill asks Walter to defend his morality in the book, if I remmember well, Walter replied something like "Don't you believe it too??" … And in another debate Craig-Ahmed, which I consider a great one by the way, when Ahmed brilliantly pointed out Craig's appeal to intuition he said something like "Walter Sinnott-Armstrong believes it too" which just got me some laughts at the moment hahaha, maybe the most falaciuos move I've seen from Craig.
