Turkish pianist under investigation for atheism

Fazıl Say, a Turkish pianist of international renown, apparently has a twitter habit and a tendency to say what he thinks. And since in a couple of tweets he has expressed atheism and engaged in some light mockery of Islam, he is now under investigation by the office of the Public Prosecutor, under suspicion of violating a Turkish law against insulting religion.

Once again, reason to be thankful I don’t live in a Muslim country.

Turkey is in actuality a very secular country by law (more secular than the US). There are laws there forbidding insulting religion, similar to laws that the UK has against insults based on race. They aren't a "Muslim" country just like the US isn't a "Christian" country even though the great majority of people may belong to that faith. Get the facts straight.

Islam's modern excesses can be blamed on the West (and on China). America, NATO, and Beijing supported these barbarians when Moscow was trying to bring liberation and civilization to dark lands such as Afghanistan and Pakistan.

If I were Leonid Brezhnev, I'd have turned the Saudi Royal Palace into a nuclear waste dump.

It seems Muslims are getting more rights everywhere in the world and eating away at the rights of every other religion.
