Is Atheism Presumptuous? A Reply to Paul Copan

My reply to Copan was published in 2000. To the best of my knowledge, Copan has neither published a reply nor issued a retraction of his claim.

I disagree with the idea that even strong atheism has the same burden of proof as theism. Atheism is the default position, and requires evidence to abandon.

In some fashion if you state THERE IS NO GAWD, then you must really prove that.
For me Gawd? No gawd? Don’t know & don’t care. Is jehovah real? Yes as real as Odin or Zeus. The universe as seen so far runs according to the rules laid out by science and math. There is no evidence of a gawd as defined by xtians (etc) so piss on him. After Death? Don’t know so don’t know what to do about it. Will die soon enough and will deal with that then. And I find most atheists are of this mind set. None that I have read or seen ever say there IS NO GAWD, they all state there is no evidence of gawd.

P.S. I use the word ‘gawd’ because I try to keep my use of cussing and bad language to a minimum.
