A while back I posted a piece about American evangelist Bryan Fischer, who claimed that gays had misappropriated the rainbow and demanded that it be given back to the Almighty.
Well, another lunatic has started parroting him: Linda Harvey, inset above, has suggested that Christians might wrench the rainbow out of the hands of gays by trademarking it.
Harvey, who heads Mission: America, said in an article written for WorldNutDaily that:
The sweet rainbow image has been violated, raped by the deluded and fraudulent, and it now serves too often as a garish signpost for slavery to grave homosexual sin.
It’s clear God did not intend for the rainbow to represent rebellion, iniquity and division. So how did this precious symbol become the banner, with few objections, for human depravity, lust, defiance and heresy?
She went on to suggest that the LGBT movement should adopt a more appropriate banner:
Featuring colours like brown, puce, mauve, gray and black – lots and lots of black. Depressing, uninspiring, empty, leading nowhere. Satan’s banner.
Can we trademark the rainbow? Of course, it’s probably impossible and perhaps even inappropriate.
