Welcome to Tuesday morning at the #ASC2012 – I’m thinking of proposing a PhD proposal: “The Misuse Of Twitter And The Insomnia Of DrPaul Willis – Longitudinal Study of an Online Observance Of The Hours Between 12am – 5am”. There’s bound to be some benefit to society from such research, even if it’s “why you should turn your Twitter phone notifications off“.
Mind, he’s still going to pop in here at 9am sharp for the first session, chirpier than a Generation Y kid on a YouTube skateboard tricks video. We’ll be seeing if Paul can do this during the morning tea intermission.
Back on track – a few announcements!
Secondly, he’s doing a bunch of interviews all over the place before turning up to Embiggen Books around 3pm – check out Triple R at 2pm today.
Saturday 3rd March – 5.00pm – Embiggen Books, 197-203 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.
Perhaps our most ambitious night yet with 7 speakers, one podcast, a book launch, book discussion and a skeptical quiz with prizes! Really does it get any better than that?
The Skeptical Blog Anthology features essays by: Dr Phillip Plait of “Bad Astronomy”, Dr Karen Stollznow of the Point of Inquiry Podcast, Sharon Hill, Dr Petra Boynton, Brian Thompson of The Amateur Scientist podcast, Skeptic Blog’s Daniel Loxton and Yau-Man Chan, New York City Skeptics’ Lisa Bauer, UK Skeptic Dr Chris French, Skeptics’ Guide to the Universe’s Evan Bernstein and many others… So many reasons to buy and read this book it’s scary!
We’ll be doing our own version of Spicks and Specks, so do turn up and win a prize as well as be entertained!
