Darosan To Tokyo – Farewell Lunch In Perth

Later tonight I’ll post the next Token Skeptic podcast episode – but here’s how our lunch turned out!

The Perth Atheists have been around since 2008 and have had a good showing at local events and national ones – like the 2012 Global Atheist convention!

This lunch was to farewell David, who has been one of the key members and forces of nature in terms of promoting ideas and getting events to happen – he’ll be heading to Tokyo and he’ll be greatly missed by everyone.

Here’s some of the gathering!

We took up about four or five tables in all – here’s some of my friends, including Protium and Donna and some new folk I’ve not met before. We had a great chat about the influence of the AFA on the recent Australian census, a book called “Just My Type: A Book About Fonts” that I’m going to check out, and all the various nonsense that we hear in the news these days. A good crowd for a Sunday!

Here’s some buttons that the Murdoch Atheists and Skeptics Society (MASS!) were selling – really cute ones too.

Here’s me, overdosing on chocolate brownies, raspberry coulis and cappuccinos…. thanks to Protium for taking the photo of me! Honestly, I am happy about it. Just being silly with my expression.

And there’s David, surrounded by fans – have a great trip and do keep us informed as to how it all goes for you in Japan! Check out the Perth Atheist site at www.meetup.com/PerthAtheists.
