A Missouri pastor delivered an impassioned speech before the Springfield City Council in which he appeared to be making the case against amending the city’s nondiscrimination ordinance to add protection for sexual orientation and gender identity.

      I kept looking at the young woman over his right shoulder and hoping she’d stand up and cheer… instead, she kind of looked befuddled. But oh man, I hope there were a few who were going “Dear god. He’s right. He’s absolutely right… and I am a member of his church…”
