The Transition Begins Again!

I’m trying to move things over again tonight. Comments are disabled. Hopefully you’ll be seeing the new site soon.

Update: If you’re reading this, you’re on the new site! Unfortunately not everything is working right yet — like threaded comments. I’m still trying to sort some of this out. Thanks for your patience!

Update 2: If there are any WordPress experts out there, I could use your help. Everything imported from WordPress.com correctly except the comments. They are not threading in any of the old posts, yet on new posts threading works. In the database the comments look fine and the comment_parent ID’s match up with the parent. But they are not displaying under the parent. If anyone has an ideas about this, please let me know.

  1. Love the site and the new layout (and your tweets) – but I first came across the new design tonight with Google’s CHROME browser. Check it out – large red splotches all over the page! Scary.

Thanks for the head up about Chrome. There are a number of issues that need fixing and I’ll add that one to the list!

I think I got the red issue fixed up. Let me know if it still happens for you. It seems to be fixed at least in Safari.

    Looks good w/ Firefox.

Isn’t there an option in wordpress that lets you do something like re-index your comments?

I’ll look into it for you :)

I looked around a bit for that comment threading, and what i found mostly pointed to their own support forums.

I guess you would do best to go there and see if someone has the same problem, and if not, make a post about it, so it can be looked into.

      good luck!

Beautiful new skin for the blog, it successfully walks the thin line between beauty and function. Will you still have the blogroll and books on the main page?

    • Daniel Florien says:

Not a blogroll (that’s been moved to in “a reading list”), but books will be added when I have a chance.
