Karaoke: Josh Groban and Aladdin

Had a wonderful night at karaoke on Friday with Mike Brownstein of the Purdue Society of Non-theists and Jesse Galef (Communications Director for the Secular Student Alliance: it’s his job to make me look good, an unenviable task).

As is the norm at karaoke, I’m a little toasty, so forgive intonation problems.

I opened with Awake! by Josh Groban.

Followed it with Prince Ali from Aladdin.

Hey, you are pretty good. The back ground, noise, was kind of getting in your way. How many Beers, did it take to get you to do that?

The Groban tracks are probably more elegant showcases for your voice but I personally always dig your more energetic performances, like meatloaf or RHPS tracks, or show tunes…

Hey, speaking of show tunes, they may not be in the karaoke databases (and may never make it there depending on who filters the content) but you could start brushing up on tracks from the Book of Mormon. NPR seems to still have all the songs online, for now. Worth a listen for a laugh, at least:

The Aladdin one rocked. You are almost singing good music!

Now, if only we could get you to sing (without making it teh queer) some Leftover Crack!
