Lunch with Thunderf00t

Got an unexpected surprise today: I got to have lunch with Thunderf00t as he passed through Columbus.

TF is one of my atheist heroes from my college days.  In my debates, I use many of his arguments to this day.

In person he is very polite, almost shy.  I’ve gotten to meet a lot of my heroes as I’ve become more prominent as an activist.  It’s always the best feeling when they turn out to be really good people.

About JT Eberhard

When not defending the planet from inevitable apocalypse at the rotting hands of the undead, JT is a writer and public speaker about atheism, gay rights, and more. He spent two and a half years with the Secular Student Alliance as their first high school organizer. During that time he built the SSA’s high school program and oversaw the development of groups nationwide. JT is also the co-founder of the popular Skepticon conference and served as the events lead organizer during its first three years.

You should make commercials for the SSA like SportsCenter.

“Celebrities stop by our offices all the time. Look who’s here now, it’s Thunderf00t!” [Cut to Thunderf00t arguing with a staffer over some petty group issue.]
