Donors Choose

See that Donors Choose box on the right side of every blog on this site?  Awwwww yeah!  That’s atheists supporting charity, baby!  Don’t worry, it’s just a ploy to mask our loathing of all things moral.

You can donate to sciency causes all over FtB, but WWJTD is your one-stop shop for helping keep music in public schools.  Yes, it’s probably because I was a music major and I’m biased, but let’s face it: the Arts are usually the first subject to face funding cuts.  Help those kids by throwing even five bucks into the hat if you’ve got it.

I’ll also give some incentives above and beyond general altruism (and the fact that you probably want non-crappy music to put on your ipods in the future).  If we hit $2,000, I will produce a karaoke video of singing nothing but Nsync songs all night.  I’ll even learn some of the dances.

If you donate $50, I’ll let you pick a song for me to record (if I don’t know it, I’ll learn it).

If you donate $500, I will write a song about you and record it.

Throw some money in just because music rocks, and because you have the fortitude to skip that caramel latte with soy one morning this week.

Me singing Gia Sole dal Gange as a student.
Help another student to have this opportunity.

PERSONAL: The beauty of paying it forward.
MORNING HAPPINESS: Poor Unfortunate Souls.
MORNING HAPPINESS: Going to see Bo Burnham!
CHARITY & ACTIVISM: Help Sarah Hargreaves raise money for Camp Quest!

I gave $50 to one of your projects (and $25 to one of BlgHag’s), but I am seriously considering putting down another $50 if you don’t sing Nsync.

For $50, what would you like to hear? :)

      • ajb47

(Thought I’d give you a choice because I am terrible at choosing from among the many songs I like.)

“Fly Me to the Moon” in your best Sinatra. With candy cigarette and old-fashioned glass with iced apple juice (unless you like whiskey) FTW.

“76 Trombones” (can you tell what instrument I started out playing or what my favorite musical is?) with marching band hat.

“Darcy’s Donkey” by Gaelic Storm. With beer.

If you didn’t mean a Karaoke video, then the props are optional.

76 Trombones it is. :) Might take me a week or two (I’ll actually have to learn the song), but it shall be recorded and uploaded!

But 76 trombones led the big parade, with 110 cornets close at hand. They were followed by rows and rows of the finest virtuosos, the cream of ev’ry famous band.

Channel Robert Preston rather than Matthew Broderick.

            Now, about N-Stink… :)

I shared the link on Facebook because I don’t have money to donate (sadface.)
Also, as a side note, I’m slightly offended that you have a share button for Facebook, Reddit, Stumbleupon, etc. but none for XANGA!
