Godless College Football Thread

Last week Arkansas squeaked out a victory against Ole Miss.  For the third consecutive game Arkansas trailed at halftime only to see their offense and defense come alive in the second half.  Against Ole Miss, it was good enough to escape with a 29-24 victory.

Vanderbilt, who we are playing today, beat that same Ole Miss team 30-7.  This is worrisome.  I hope the hogs can come out fast against blitz-happy Vandy.

I have quite a few friends at SOMA at the University of Kansas.  One of my besties, Michaelyn is an officer in that group.  It is not uncommon for my friend Michaelyn and I to co-root for each other’s teams on Saturday, but today I have an extra special reason to pull for Kansas: today they can upset the #24 Texas Longhorns!  I pretty much loathe all things Texas (I try to imagine that Matt Dillahunty lives somewhere else) to the extent that I would cheer for Herman Cain as long as he was playing against the Longhorns.

My upset pick for the day?  Georgia Tech over #5 Clemson!

Anyway, be godless and talk about football!  I’m coming down sick so I’ll be popping in an commenting myself today.  :)

They’re going to blitz. Look for a lot of 7-15 yard passes, a few screens, lots of Arkansas points, and a banged up Tyler Wilson.

      Wooooooo Pig Soooie!!!

Oh and I try to think of Austin as it’s own state, and not part of Texas…

I really expect us to put everything together today. I don’t anticipate us starting slow again today. I am hoping the bye week contributed to the sluggish start last week. If Vandy blitzes, as usual, I would expect Wingo to carve them up on screen passes. He is an exceptional pass catcher out of the backfield.

I am not a fan of Aaron Rodgers, so I don’t see myself being a fan of his brother today…

I have been impressed with their Franklin, he seems to have them heading in the right direction. Even putting together a respectable recruiting class.

Rock Chalk, baby! Honestly, if we put any score on the board, I’ll be happy

As long as the Hogs adjust to the blitz with quick short passes, I think their passing game will kill Vandy’s pass rush. Woo Pig Sooie!

Dammit all. Arkansas coming out sluggish again. *grumble*

Arkansas has got to stop doing this shit.

    • Egaeus

No joke. They won’t beat SC or LSU playing like that.
