Godless NFL Thread

Last week Oakland got crushed by KC.  We couldn’t put a QB on the field and McFadden got hurt the first time he ran.  Now I owe my friend Ashley a picture of me holding a “Chiefs Rule” sign, which will happen as soon as I’m well.  Thank FSM for a bye week for the Raiders.  On top of that, Tim Tebow played like a chump but still managed to eek out a victory over winless Miami.  Yes, Tebow led the game-winning drive, but as one analyst said: you aren’t a hero for putting out the fire you started.

On a good note, who picked the Panthers to upset the Redskins?  Me!  With my call of GT upsetting #5 Clemson yesterday, that moves me up to 3-0 picking upsets this year.  I’m more impressive than any prophet in the whole bible.  I rule.

Sadly, I don’t see a good upset pick this week, so I’m going to go with the Eagles upsetting the Cowboys for two reasons.

1.  Dallas has shown an uncanny ability to beat themselves at times this year, so hopefully I’ll get lucky and they’ll do it again.

2.  Fuck Texas (except for Austin).

Enjoy the thread everybody!

I generally hope your picks are right, but today I must say, “Fuck you, sir.”

I played Madden yesterday as the Cowboys vs. the Eagles. Cowboys won, which clearly means Cowboys are going to win.

Ugh, they probably will. I just can’t find any better upset pick. :S

      • ccaldwell314

I couldn’t either, my picks in my Pick ‘Em League are almost entirely along the “favored” side. Plenty of upsets yesterday though on the college side.

I know! Arkansas will move up.

If there are no upsets in the NFL today, does this week count for picking upsets? I mean, if it would’ve been impossible to find one…

I’m hoping to see Miami upset the Giants. Simply because it’s annoying how hard Miami has jumped on the Suck for Luck bandwagon.

Reggie Bush is performing better in my fantasy league than Darren Sproles. I am so goddamn confused by these games today.

Geez…looks like I should have picked *all* the upsets. Watch Dallas be the only favored team who doesn’t lose.

Tim Tebow playing like a chump. That’s the Tebow I know and love. Can play like a chump against Miami and get away with it, but not against anybody else.

not only is tebow chumping it up again today, the lions are making fun of him. after sacking him, stephen tulloch ‘tebowed’ and ex-bronco tony sheffler tebowed and threw in a denver salute for good measure after scoring a lions touchdown.

Wow, I was just starting to like you JT. ; (

    Go Cowboys!

Steelers do it again! Four wins in a row, and two safeties in two weeks! I’m happy now!

So apparently the Eagles were favored by 2.5 or 3. I found this weird.

Eagles are the home team. It means that the teams are otherwise pretty even. Technically, it means that Vegas believes the the betting will show that the teams are pretty even, and the home team usually gets three points.

Remember, the point spread only shows what Vegas believes people will bet.
