What Teachers Make

A god damned difference.

About JT Eberhard

When not defending the planet from inevitable apocalypse at the rotting hands of the undead, JT is a writer and public speaker about atheism, gay rights, and more. He spent two and a half years with the Secular Student Alliance as their first high school organizer. Hey, I saw this guy a few times when he performed in Oxford (UK). Fun times. Yes, we do have slam poetry over here, though I don’t think we’ve managed to elevate it to quite the level of competitiveness it has in its homeland.

    That was kind of awesome.

This is my favorite version of this because the audience responds so passionately, whereas the audiences in some of the other videos just chuckle or clap.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve sent this ’round to friends, fellow students (well, when I was in school) and co-workers.

    It’s always worth sharing again.

What is this, make Ali cry day on FTB? You and Jen are in on it together!

Beautiful video, JT, thanks for posting.

Oops! I have no idea how I embedded that instead of just linked to it. Sorry!

Wow, wow, wow. What an amazing inspiration. I’m homeschooling my son because teachers like this are so very rare. It’s not an ideal solution but the best for now. Out of all my school experiences, with dozens and dozens of teachers, I can only think of a handful that really challenged me. I hope I can live up to their example.
