At least Mr. Finley keeps it short, swift, and to the point.
But sadly, he doesn’t keep it any more reasonable than his comrades.
“If we ever forget we’re one nation under god we’re one nation gone under.”
Easy response: that’s not true.
As Hitchens so eloquently put it: “What can be argued without evidence can be rejected without evidence.”
And even if that weren’t the case, there are very good reasons for keeping the government neutral on religion (you can find them in Judge Lagueux’s ruling) – not the least of which is the assurance that people can worship however they please without government interference.
Keeping the government out of religion doesn’t remove religion from our country. In fact, it protects it.
