Barbara Bush is sick of your shit

Things were going swell.  The GOP nominees were all shrieking about our Christian president’s war on religion.

Then she had to butt in.

Former first lady Barbara Bush is giving a thumbs down to the GOP presidential race.

“I think it’s been the worst campaign I’ve ever seen in my life,” Bush said Monday at a conference on first ladies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. “I hate that people think compromise is a dirty word. It’s not a dirty word.”

Wow. That’s pretty harsh coming from a woman who thought the kids stuck in Texas after the Katrina hurricane had life pretty good…

  • Alverant

Depends, how is she defining “comprimise”? During her husband’s and son’s terms in office it meant, “Shut up and agree with me.” Has it been restored to its dictionary definition yet?

Also, she’s a woman. None of the current candidates gives a fuck what she thinks, and frankly, they are all wondering why she is even speaking.

Clearly this woman is hysterical. Somebody should notify her husband.

  • ‘Tis Himself, OM

In response to a question about civility in politics, Barbara Bush didn’t mince words. “I think the rest of the world is looking at us these days and saying, ‘What are you doing?’ “

    I wounder that myself.

Curiously, the only time “compromise” is uttered is when they’re busy projecting their overzealous stubbornness onto Democrats.

The objection to using “slut” and “prostitute”, on the other hand, is not one of decency, but of magnitude, and it is only appropriate to use in private, when with an actual prostitute.

I always thought she would have been twice the president her husband was. And ten times the president her son was.
Of course, that’s a pretty low bar to clear.

Yes, even a double-jointed Zen master in Limbo dancing would be destined to fail at a bar this low.
