Debate in Michigan tomorrow

Tomorrow night at 7pm I will be on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

At 7pm in the Michigan Union in the Rogel Ballroom (click here to see it on google maps).  I’ll be debating Pastor John Allen of the New Life Church over “Does God Exist?”  There’s also a facebook event with more info.

It should be a good time and I hear there will even be hanging out afterward.  Come say hi.  :)

Click here to see my travel/speaking schedule for March/April.  I’m full until summer, but if you want to have me wherever you are, here’s where you can get that info.

About JT Eberhard

When not defending the planet from inevitable apocalypse at the rotting hands of the undead, JT is a writer and public speaker about atheism, gay rights, and more. He spent two and a half years with the Secular Student Alliance as their first high school organizer. During that time he built the SSA’s high school program and oversaw the development of groups nationwide. JT is also the co-founder of the popular Skepticon conference and served as the events lead organizer during its first three years.

Worried that it is not well publicized. has location as being at Rackham, which is a different building. SSA Michigan chapter facebook events page says: no events. does list it properly, thanks to Russian Student Association I think. Kiddies are just back from a week off.

I am figuring Allen will fail to convert you.

Ohhhhh I hope someone puts this on YouTube.

Wow. I tend to agree with PZ in his view that these debates can be kind of pointless – 99% of the folks there are immovable objects, either on the side of reason and aren’t getting converted to Giant-Invisible-Skyfaerie-ism, or dyed in the wool soldiers for Jesus with their fingers in their ears.

But on the off chance that one person hears your debate and it sows the seeds of doubt in their brainmeats, I heartily support and applaud you 100%, JT.

I could make it – but I’m curious about the location – the map shows the MI Union as being in Ypsilanti. I thought the Union was near downtown Ann Arbor.
