Truth in advertising

I was driving around Kansas City, and saw a billboard for a hospital, and something new occurred to me.

Here’s a few examples I pulled up with just a Google search for hospital billboards, see if you can spot the trend:



See the common thread?

Our most advanced places of healing, the place you go when you’re in your true moment of need, what do they put in their advertisements?

Knowledge. Technology. Research. The want you to know they’re using the pinnacle of modern science. They want you to know their doctors are some of the most well learned humans on the planet.

 

You know what you don’t see?

 

Rational people don’t think twice between an emergency room and a prayer room. When someone is seriously injured, people dial 911, not their church.

One head studying will accomplish more than a million bowed in prayer.

Two hands researching will save lives when millions of hands clasped together in prayer will accomplish nothing.

Your computers folding proteins will aid in the search for cures. (Did you see that coming?)
