Ode to materialism

To assuage my Lebron James-induced rage, here’s a post about things I either now own or plan to own that turn my frown upside down.

I now own this game.  It is awesome.

I’ve also decided I spend too much time sitting.  I sit at work and I sit to game/write.  So I’ve decided to purchase this:

The treadmill desk is freaking awesome. It will be mine.

Played Betrayal during a 24hr gaming marathon for charity last year (http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?) Loved it. We got a few games in between some computer gaming and each one was fun and different. I’m sure eventually you’d get repeat scenarios but it was more than enough for several sessions.

Betrayal is awesome! The rules in the revised release of the game (pictured) are much better and the scenarios are much more balanced than in the original (with the red box), but I find that the components in the new box are a lot flimsier. :P (Are your room tiles kinda warped/curved as well? So far everybody I know with the new box has tiles that just don’t lie flat)

We always do a round or two of House when our WoW guild gets together. Our GM makes it even better because she RPs the omens and events.

    OMFSM I need that desk!

I second the “I need that desk” motion!

Speaking of being irrational about risk, the recent press explosion over how “sitting kills you” has been pretty ridiculous (which I hope was part of the joke, but I can’t really tell since I don’t follow these guys). Studies on this subject have had mixed outcomes overall, and there are still open questions as to how best to characterize and measure sitting time (e.g. being able to separate the effects of total vs. uninterrupted sitting time).

    *coughs* Erm… that is all.

My brothers-in-game and I are intrigued by this “Betrayal” of which you speak.

    I forsee an imminent purchase.

I have the red box version, but I’ve been pondering getting the newer edition. Great game and it has provided many, many, many nights of fun in my house.

I only discovered John Green about a month ago. And there he is, on WWJTD.

    Weird how things cluster.

Darn. Now I’m going to need to get the revised edition…
