You might remember this a bit ago, science standards in South Korea being re-written by creationists,
A petition to remove references to evolution from high-school textbooks claimed victory last month after the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST) revealed that many of the publishers would produce revised editions that exclude examples of the evolution of the horse or of avian ancestor Archaeopteryx. The move has alarmed biologists, who say that they were not consulted.
So, it looked like theocracy was winning. UNTIL!
South Korea’s government has urged textbook publishers to ignore calls to remove two examples of evolution from high-school textbooks……On 5 September, the panel concluded that Archaeopteryx must be included in Korean science textbooks, and it reaffirmed that the theory of evolution is an essential part of modern science that all students must learn in school.
+1 for reality.
Maybe this is why creationists still exist. This does seem to fit in with standard fundamentalist tactics; “We don’t understand basic science….NO ONE ELSE SHOULD EITHER!”
