Another Sunday.  Another week of hoping the Raiders can get their shit together.

Sorry for no open thread last week.  I’m traveling.  A ton.

So, what’s up this week?

Two weeks ago:

Look, mistakes were made.  The important thing is that we stay the course.

First, the good.  My player to watch was Aaron Rodgers who went 31-41 for 319 yards and 4 touchdowns.  So that pick worked out, moving me to 2-2 with my Player-to-Watch picks.

As for my upset pick, I said…

You heard it here first – the New York Jets beat the San Francisco 49ers.

That…didn’t happen…to the tune of a 34-0 obliteration at the hands of the 49ers.  Oops.  2-2 on upset picks for year.

This week:

The player to watch this week is Andrew Luck.  Emotions are high in Indianapolis and the Jets secondary is broken.  I think he’ll have a big day.

The upset pick for this week follows my PtW pick: I think the Colts keep the dream alive and beat the Jets by a field goal!

Conversation topic:

RG3 is going to suit up with a concussion.  Good decision or bad decision?  I’m going with bad decision.  I think he’ll have an abysmal game.  Plus, ever since Chris Kluwe turned out to be an unstoppable badass, I just can’t bring myself to pick against the Vikings.  :)

    Except for the comeback against the Steelers, the Raiders have been excruciating to watch this year. I’m getting tired of walking in to work to face all those happy Niners fans every Monday morning. We’re back to the point where we are celebrating every damn first down because they come so seldom. Ugh.

    And I have the damn Cowboys game instead of Indy. Effing Cowboys.

    As for post-concussion RG: Bad Decision. I predict sackage.

    I don’t worry about concussions when they are caught properly this year. In order to play, you have to pass a battery of tests by independent doctors. I worry more about players hiding concussions on field to avoid having to come out. Calvin Johnson and Colt McCoy both played through concussions this season. I think that’s the problem that’s most troublesome now.
