About JT Eberhard

When not defending the planet from inevitable apocalypse at the rotting hands of the undead, JT is a writer and public speaker about atheism, gay rights, and more. He spent two and a half years with the Secular Student Alliance as their first high school organizer. During that time he built the SSA’s high school program and oversaw the development of groups nationwide. JT is also the co-founder of the popular Skepticon conference and served as the events lead organizer during its first three years.

That doesn’t mean Small is going to get off. The local police have already arrested him and charged him and my understanding is that this has nothing to do with the state board of elections. That article refers to any action by the attorney general, not by the police.

      Ah, good to know.

Stefnelli is still being a jerk about this, and acting like a petulant child to boot. “I’m going to keep using whatever words I want because dictionary! Also, I don’t mean it that way, and my intentions are so much more important than the effects of my actions on other people.” Am I wrong in expecting so much more from him?

I could have happily lived the rest of my life without seeing any more know-nothings defend the use of “bitch”. Al is wrong and that’s sad. He could have been one of the good men in this world; sad he insists on taking the cheap path of degrading women to make himself feel bigger. Yeah, some wordsmith he is.

    • Ibis3

Yeah. Me too. I just clicked on JT’s link thinking that perhaps Al had written a post about why he’d come to the realisation that using the word was denigrating to women and that he’s decided not to use it anymore. I scanned it just long enough to figure out that, no, in fact, he’s written an entire article about how it’s the greatest word ever and has no relevance to the hatred women endure. I’m never going to read another word he writes, and right now I’m going to go and have a thorough cry. I get so tired and worn out by this hatred and bigotry that’s so pervasive that otherwise “good” people can be so cruel and nasty.

      • Ibis3

Just after I hit reply, the pain turned into a rush of anger. I feel like beating someone up until he gets it. Fucking asshole. There aren’t enough words.
