Atheist images from around yon web.

Yesterday’s awesome atheist pics from around the web.

"We must make it clear that a platform of "I hate gay men and women" is not a way to become president of the United States." ~ Jimmy Carter

"You can't just say there is a god because the world is beautiful. You have to account for bone cancer in children." ~ Stephen Fry

You don't need religion to have morals. If you can't determine right from wrong then you lack empathy, not religion.

And here’s a bonus image that has nothing to do with atheism, but which cracked me up.

An image text from a guy with his shirt off, then a response from another dude, far less in shape, pulling up his shirt with the text "wrong number." Original guy responds "Yep, my bad."

Jimmy Carter is a liberal but devout Christian and definitely not an atheist. He seems fairly secular however.

I’ve been building a picture series inspired by Brick Testament; using XNALara model posing program, here is the first panel of my interpretation of the stations of the cross (if I may be so bold as to spam my blasphemous art here): Starring Lara Croft as Jesus, I call it ‘The Passion of the Croft’.

Jimmy Carter is definitely not an atheist. His wikipedia page lists him as a Baptist. One of his famous quotes is from an interview he did with Playboy: “While discussing his religion’s view of pride, Carter said: “I’ve looked on a lot of women with lust. I’ve committed adultery in my heart many times.””

Jimmy Carter founded, or was at least deeply involved in, Habitat for Humanity. Habitat is a Christian organization, though you wouldn’t know that just by looking at it and it is, in my opinion, a great example of “Christianity done right.” It is simply there to help people, and I’ve never seen faith brought up at a build.

This doesn’t make his point any less true, but it does make him out of place in a list of atheist images, especially since his quote is not directly atheist, it’s just anti-hate.
