Tom Ricks owns FOX in the shortest interview ever.

FOX News has been harping Benghazi non-stop lately.  In a continuation of that effort, they invited military reporter Tom Ricks onto the show for an interview.  The interview lasted two questions, during which time Ricks told the anchor that FOX is over-hyping the tragedy as an arm of the Republican Party.

That was enough for the anchor to conclude things after little more than a minute with a “Tom Ricks, thanks very much for joining us.”  Ricks responds with a self-satisfied “You’re welcome.”

You know how sometimes inflection can change the meaning of a phrase?  It’s possible to say “I love you” while meaning “I wish nothing but ill upon you.”  When Ricks said “You’re welcome” all I heard was “Fuck you” and it made me smile.

FOX would later claim that Rick apologized in the newsroom, to which Ricks would say

“Please ask Mr. Clemente what the words of my supposed apology were. I’d be interested to know,” Ricks said. “Frankly, I don’t remember any such apology.”

Awkward.  :)  Well played, Mr. Ricks.

Sadly, he tarnished this gem by suggesting MSNBC was the same but not as good at it.

I have to think that if fox / the right would try being in reality sometime, they could find a valid complaint about some administration policy or another. They might have to actually think or know something, however, so I’m guessing they’ll keep on with the puffed up delusions act.

It’s tv for the talk radio crowd, without the puffed up delusional act they have no audience.

I hate that kind of false equivalence argument. Ohh, MSNBC is just as bad / tries to do the same thing!

No. They don’t. They may call out right-wing bullshit, but that doesn’t make them biased any more than calling out Israel on something makes me an anti-Semite.

Tom Ricks is my hero! To bad more people don’t say it as clear as Mr. Ricks and expose the true hypocrisy Fox News is.

The talking heads guarding the inhabitants of Bullsh*t Mountain from rejoining the world of the sane just won’t budge an inch will they? Fox News is a propaganda machine which dumbs down America by the day through disinformation and their slanted agendas. See their anchors spewing forth feces from their mouths in my visual homage to the network on my artist’s blog at

Best… interview… ever :) Ricks was so pleased with himself at the end, and rightly so. Good on him.
