Godless NFL thread.

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these.  I’m going to be chilling at Buffalo Wild Wings for most of the day with NFL superfan Jessica Kirsner (@JKMiami89 on twitter) of the Secular Student Alliance, so it seemed like a good time to revive the tradition.  We’ll both me dropping in to chat about the games.

Darren McFadden is sucking it up this season.  I don’t want to talk about it.  Previous Razorback standout Peyton Hillis is now with the Chiefs, who I cannot bring myself to support.  I don’t want to talk about it.

The game we’re going to be focusing on for the 1pm EST slot is the Redskins vs. the Ravens.  Jessica thinks RG3 is the second coming of Christ.  I think he’s good, and is underrated as a passer.  I’m not sure he can sustain what he’s doing more than a few years, as many beatings as he receives trying to be a running back at times.

My is Ravens by 10.  Jessica says Ravens by 3.

We also have a bet on the Falcons – Panthers game.  Whoever is closer picking the halftime score gets some wings courtesy of the other.

I say it will be 14-14.  Jessica says 13-7, Falcons.

Anyway, pop into the comments and keep us company.  :)

Well, didn’t take the Chiefs long to get into the end zone…

Ugh, good job keeping KC out of the end zone a second time, but things not looking good for the Browns. :(

Whoa, KC kicker clanked an easy one. That could come back to haunt them later…

Ok, how do you not root for the Colts this season? No matter what I’m watching on Sunday, I find myself paying particular attention to how they’re doing. w00t Indianapolis tying it up!

I find it pretty easy to not root for the Colts. Their coaches like to push Christianity quite a bit, going as far as to say they only want a player if he cares about “faith, family, and football.”

      • Loqi

Granted, they’re just regurgitating Vince Lombardi there, but I still don’t like it.

It’s like Opposite Day so far. Minnesota & Carolina are up and my Bucs are still scoreless against the heavily depleted Eagles…and now Philadelphia is in the Red Zone!

This is a strange, strange world…

      …that I love living in. :D

In case anyone is wondering, I won the bet.

Redskins vs. Ravens….what a great game!

Gutsy by RG3, hella gutsy by their rookie backup….wow.
