Make Darwin Day an official holiday!

A measure has been introduced to Congress to recognize Darwin Day!

The American Humanist Association proudly worked with Representative Rush Holt (NJ) to introduce House Resolution 41“expressing support for designation of February 12, 2013, as Darwin Day and recognizing the importance of science in the betterment of humanity.” We are asking you to help win approval for the resolution by using this form to contact your Congressional representative asking for their co-sponsorship and support.

Visit to learn more about the Darwin Day resolution and join a Darwin Day event in your community. Thank you for standing up for science.

Come for recognition being given to science.  Stay for the exploding heads of people who oppose science (while using all that science has given us to improve the quality of their own lives) because of their religious beliefs.

I e-mailed my Tea Party Congressional Representative to support this as a co-sponsor. I figured he needed a “WTF?” kind of morning.

Actually, Darwin Day, Feb. 12, is already a holiday as it’s Lincoln’s birthday. And Newton Day is also a holiday as it’s Dec. 25.
